What CallVault is
CallVault records your own Android phone calls and keeps them on this phone. You can play a recording back, find it later by number, contact name or note, and export the audio. A web library shows what you chose to back up, and nothing else.

What your phone can and can't hear
Start here. It decides what the rest of this site is worth to you.
An ordinary Android app can't read the phone network's call audio. CallVault records through the phone's microphone path instead, so your own side is the reliable part, and on many phones the other person is clear only on speaker. An optional setting turns the speaker on for calls. Results depend on the phone.
If your phone maker's own recorder does better, point CallVault at that folder and it imports those files; a stereo import is split into its real channels. Every track carries the source CallVault actually found. A track is never labeled "caller" or "other party" unless that is verified.
Test one real call before you rely on any of this.

Facts worth having early. CallVault runs on Android 8.0 and newer. It carries no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and there is no iOS version. It isn't on Google Play either. Google Play does not list apps that record calls the way CallVault does, so it ships as a signed APK you download from the CallVault website.
