Moving from Boldbeast Call Recorder to CallVault

A long-running Android recorder, offered as an APK from its own site, with options for phones that need root. Facts about it come from its own page, last checked 7 November 2026. Prices and the wider comparison are on the CallVault site.

Should you move?

Stay on Boldbeast Call Recorder if one of these is you:

  • You want one payment and no plan: PRO is 9.99 USD for life on one device.
  • You run an older phone. Its current version supports Android 5.0 to 11.0, and CallVault needs Android 8 or newer.

Move if these matter more:

  • Android 12 and newer: Boldbeast states support up to Android 11.
  • A web library for your backed-up recordings.

How do you move?

  1. Install CallVault and record one real call. Play it back before you change anything else. What CallVault hears depends on your phone.
  2. Keep Boldbeast Call Recorder's recordings where they are until that test call sounds right.
  3. To bring old recordings across, point CallVault at the folder they're in. CallVault reads those files and never changes them. It's built around phone makers' recorders and BCR-compatible ones, and we haven't tested Boldbeast Call Recorder's files, so try one first.
