Moving from Truecaller to CallVault
A caller ID and spam blocker with call recording listed under its Premium plan. Facts about it come from its own page, last checked 7 November 2026. Prices and the wider comparison are on the CallVault site.
Should you move?
Stay on Truecaller if one of these is you:
- You want caller ID and spam blocking in the same app.
- You want an automatic summary and a written transcript of a call: its listing includes both, and CallVault’s are not switched on yet.
Move if these matter more:
- A recorder and nothing else: it doesn’t need to identify who is calling you, and never reads your address book.
- No ads, on any plan.
- A web library for your backed-up recordings.
How do you move?
- Install CallVault and record one real call. Play it back before you change anything else. What CallVault hears depends on your phone.
- Keep Truecaller's recordings where they are until that test call sounds right.
- To bring old recordings across, point CallVault at the folder they're in. CallVault reads those files and never changes them. It's built around phone makers' recorders and BCR-compatible ones, and we haven't tested Truecaller's files, so try one first.
